Germany is currently facing a significant shortage of pharmacists, which poses challenges to its healthcare system. Despite an increase in the number of employed pharmacists—from approximately 47,900 in 2000 to about 56,400 in 2022—the demand continues to outpace supply (statista.com)

Why Germany Needs You
Opportunities for Egyptian Pharmacists

The Federal Union of German Associations of Pharmacists (ABDA) anticipates a shortfall of up to 10,000 pharmacists by the end of this decade, essential to maintain adequate medication supply to patients nationwide (pgeu.eu)

Germany is currently experiencing a significant decline in the number of pharmacies, which poses challenges to its healthcare system. In 2023, approximately 500 pharmacies closed their doors, equating to the total number of pharmacies in the state of Thuringia (eulerpool.com) This trend continued into 2024, with 559 closures reported by the end of the third quarter (euronews.com)

Conversely, Egypt faces a contrasting issue. In 2019, the unemployment rate among university graduates reached 36.1%, with a significant portion being pharmacy graduates (zawya.com)

This disparity presents a unique opportunity. By connecting qualified Egyptian pharmacists with vacancies in Germany, we can address the pharmacist shortage in Germany while providing meaningful employment opportunities for Egyptian graduates.
